Littleton Hill

The highest and westernmost of three summits arranged along a ridge situated to the northwest of Colmonell in South Ayrshire, Littleton Hill rises to 176m (577 feet) 4 miles (6.5 km) northeast of Ballantrae. The rocks here are part of the Ballantrae ophiolite complex, an unusual slice of ocean crust preserved during the collision of continents in the Ordovician period.
