River Fiddich

Rising in the uplands of Moray, the River Fiddich flows some 20 miles (32 km) northeast and northwest past Dufftown to join the River Spey at Craigellachie. In its upper reaches the river flows through Glen Fiddich a name associated with a noted whisky produced at the Glenfiddich Distillery which lies on the A941 road to the north of Dufftown. Founded on Christmas Day in 1887 by William Grant, the Glenfiddich Distillery is still managed by the Grant Family and is the only distillery in the Highlands where malt whisky is bottled on the premises.
