Ale Water

A tributary of the River Teviot in the Scottish Borders, the Ale Water rises on the NW slopes of Henwoodie Hill in Roberton Parish and flows northeast through Alemoor Loch. It continues northeast and east for 24 miles (38 km) to meet the Teviot just south of Ancrum village. The river runs through the settlement of Ashkirk and passes Lilliesleaf and Ancrum.
