Muck Water

The Muck Water is a small river of South Ayrshire. Rising as headstreams on the western slopes of Fell Hill, the river flows southwest between blocks of plantation forest and then onwards to the Duisk River, reaching it at a point a half-mile (1 km) southeast of Pinwherry, having completed a course of 7½ miles (12 km). Just a mile (1.5 km) to the northwest the Duisk River joins the River Stinchar.

The Docherniel Burn is the principal tributary of the Muck Water, which also receives Gowan's Burn and several smaller streams. There is another Muck Water 21 miles (33 km) to the northeast in East Ayrshire, which is a tributary of the River Doon.
