Lochan Dubh

An expansion of the River Ailort in the SW of Highland Council Area, Lochan Dubh is located at the western end of Loch Eilt, 1¼ miles (2 km) east northeast of Lochailort. It contains an wooded island, surprisingly large given the small size of the loch (1.9 ha / 4.7 acres), and is overlooked by the A830 Trunk Road and West Highland Railway line from the north.
