A small river in Midlothian, Redside Burn forms at the exit to Edgelaw Reservoir and flows northeast through a wooded valley to fall in to the River South Esk to the east of Carrington Mill, a quarter-mile (0.4 km) west of Arniston House, having completed a course of 2 miles (3 km).
