Forming a shop frontage on Innerleithen's High Street, Robert Smail's Printing Works is maintained by the National Trust for Scotland. Was a printing works and stationers from 1847 - 1985. Today the buildings are preserved much as they were at in late Victorian times, with an office, paper store, composing and press rooms. The presses were originally powered by a water-wheel located in a lade underneath the building.
