Loch Goil

A sea loch of Argyll and Bute, Loch Goil is an arm of Loch Long, striking to the north about half-way up that loch's western shore and surrounded by the Argyll Forest Park.

The village of Lochgoilhead lies at the head of the loch and the hamlet of Carrick lies close to the mouth of the loch on its western shore. The defence contractor QinetiQ maintains a facility to assess the noise signatures of navy vessels on the loch at Douglas Pier.
