Loch an Duin

(Loch an Dùin)

A brackish loch on the east coast of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Loch an Duin has a remarkably convoluted shape and lies 4 miles (6.5 km) north northwest of Lochmaddy. It takes its name from the Iron Age broch located close to its northwestern shore, Dun Torcuill. There is another Loch an Duin on North Uist, located a similar distance to the east southeast.
