Findhorn Bay

Before entering the Moray Firth, the River Findhorn flows into Findhorn Bay, a shallow estuary with a narrow channel that provides an outlet to the sea. The bay also receives the Muckle Burn and the Burn, the Burn of Mosset and the Kinloss Burn. To the west lie the Culbin Sands and near its outlet lies the village of Findhorn whose harbour was once one of the busiest in Moray. Protected from the open sea, the bay is popular amongst yachtsmen. The burgh town of Forres lies to the south.
