A small sea loch on the east coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Loch Grimshader (Gael: Loch Griomsiadair) opens into the Minch 4½ miles (7 km) south of Stornoway. For the most part it takes the form of a narrow channel, the loch opens to a larger hammer-head shaped water body at its head, with the settlement of Grimshader to the north and Ranish to the south. The island of Buaile Mhor lies at the head of the loch.
