Hospitalfield

A western district of Arbroath in Angus, Hospitalfield represents a private housing development dating from the later decades of the 20th century. Taking its name from Hospitalfield House and located 1¼ miles (2 km) west of the town centre, the district comprises bungalows and two-storey detached and semi-detached properties. Hospitalfield House is an ancient structure which was rebuilt by Patrick Allan-Fraser (1813-90) and his wife Elizabeth in the mid-19th century. One of the principal roads running through the district is named Patrick Allan-Fraser Street in his honour.
