Ormidale

A fine laird's house and estate located at the southern end of the valley of Glendaruel, Ormidale lies at the head of Loch Riddon, 2 miles (3 km) south of Clachan of Glendaruel. Set within 9.3 ha (23 acres) of gardens and woodland Ormidale House was built as a seat of Clan Campbell in 1696. In 1900, it was substantially extended by Robert Lorimer (1864 - 1929) and now comprises a sizeable dining room, breakfast room, sitting room, drawing room, billiards room and thirteen bedrooms.

The grounds were landscaped by Thomas Mawson of Kendal and include formal gardens laid to lawn and terrace with hydrangeas, rhododendron and azalea, together with what is said to be the tallest Grecian fir in Scotland.
