Braco Castle

The 16th Century tower house of Braco Castle is located to the northwest of the settlement of Braco in Perth and Kinross. Although the four-storey tower is 16th century, 17th and 18th century additions have made the castle U-shaped. In the 19th century, a two-storey bay-fronted entrance, with a crenellated parapet, was inserted in the space between the two wings and service wing added to the northeast. It was the property of the Graham family until 1790, and was a stronghold of the Jacobites during 1715 Rebellion. The castle is B-listed. To the east lies a line of Roman camps and signal stations at Ardoch, Blackhall and Kaims Castle.
