An area of rising moorland located to the west of Renton in West Dunbartonshire, Carman Muir reaches a height of 244m (800 feet) at Carman Hill, which forms part of a ridge overlooking the Vale of Leven to the east. The Cardross Road cuts across it, while Millburn Muir lies to the northeast.
