A summit in The Machars of Galloway, Gallow Hill rises to 70m (229 feet) overlooking Wigtown Bay, 2 miles (3 km) south southwest of Garlieston. Geologically, the hill comprises Silurian greywacke rock, with extensive deposits of glacial till in the north.
