Duncansby Head

A promontory on the coast of Caithness, Highland Council Area, Duncansby Head forms the northeastern extremity of Mainland Scotland, 2 miles (3 km) east of John o' Groats. Its sandstone cliffs, which rise to a height of 64m (210 feet) and are known locally as 'Seabird City', are alive with seabirds and offshore are three rocky islets known as The Stacks of Duncansby. A lighthouse was erected here in 1924.
