Garth Castle

Situated on the west side of the Strath of Appin in Perth and Kinross and overlooking the Keltney Burn, the square tower of Garth Castle dates from the 14th century. Partially rebuilt in the 1890s by Sir Donald Currie, it was formerly a stronghold of the Stewarts, the most notable of which was Alexander Stewart, Earl of Buchan, the so-called 'Wolf of Badenoch'. Garth House lies nearly 3 miles (5 km) to the south.
