Portmoak Airfield

An airfield operated by the Scottish Gliding Union, Portmoak lies in a parish of the same name, a mile to the south of the village of Scotlandwell in Perth and Kinross. Since 1967 the airfield has occupied the former farm of Portmoak to the east of Loch Leven, taking advantage of the thermal uplift offered by the adjacent Lomond Hills. Next to the old farm house of Portmoak is a small graveyard that was associated with a chapel demolished in c.1650.
