Strathaird

An estate on the island of Skye in the Inner Hebrides, Strathaird lies south of Blaven (Gael: Bla Bheinn) and southeast of the Cuillin Hills, forming a peninsula between Loch Scavaig and Loch Slapin. The estate extends to 6,444 ha (15,923 acres). For a time the property of Jethro Tull musician Ian Anderson (b.1947), the estate was acquired by the John Muir Trust in 1994 with the support of the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
