Arrochar Alps

The Arrochar Alps are a picturesque and rugged range of mountains at the head of the Cowal peninsula in the Southern Highlands. They lie to the north and west of Arrochar (Argyll and Bute) and to the west of Loch Lomond. The range is located within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and includes four Munros, six Corbetts and three other mountains. The Munros are Beinn Ime (1101m / 3317 feet), Ben Vorlich (943m / 3094 feet), Ben Narnain (926m / 3038 feet) and Ben Vane (915m / 3002 feet). The Corbetts are Beinn an Lochain (901m / 2956 feet), Ben Arthur (also known as The Cobbler; 884m / 2901 feet), Beinn Luibhean (857m / 2812 feet), Ben Donich (847m / 2779 feet), Stob Coire Creagach (Binnein an Fhidhleir; 817m / 2681 feet) and The Brack (787m / 2582 feet). The other significant hills are Beinn Chorranach (888m / 2914 feet), A' Chrois (848m / 2782 feet) and Cruach Tairbeirt (415m / 1349 feet).

The proximity of the Arrochar Alps to Glasgow has ensured that they are popular with hill-walkers and climbers.
