Barr Castle

Located in Galston town centre, East Ayrshire, Barr Castle is an old Norman keep which was built by the Lockhart family in response to invasions in the 12th and 13th centuries. The castle is famous as a place where both George Wishart and John Knox preached after being banned from preaching in church during the early years of the Reformation.
