Thomas Coats Memorial Church

Built in 1894 in memory of Thomas Coats, founder of the Coats Threadmakers, the Thomas Coats Memorial Church was based on the design of St Giles Kirk in Edinburgh. A Baptist church, it is regarded as the finest Baptist church in Europe. Built in red sandstone, the Gothic styled building is dominated by a crown spire that reaches a height of 60m (197 feet).
