Grangemouth Museum

A small museum lying in the north of Grangemouth, the Grangemouth Museum is located on the upper level of the Victoria Library, close to the docks. The museum traces the history of the town, built as the eastern terminal of the Forth and Clyde Canal and now a centre of the petro-chemical industry. It includes a display on the Charlotte Dundas, the world's first steamboat, built by William Symington (1763 - 1831), which underwent trials on the canal in 1802.

Run by the Falkirk Museums Service, the Grangemouth Museum was refurbished in 1987.
