Seal Skerry

A rocky island located to the north of Dennis Ness on North Ronaldsay, Seal Skerry represents the most northerly point of Orkney, lying a mile (1.5 km) north of the settlement of Easting. Named after the seals which regularly haul-out onto the rocks, the island is also home to a Cormorant colony. Over the year the dangerous rocks have wrecked a number of ships, including Vertruan (1848), Palmmads (1850), Agnes (1854), Swallow (1905) and Skotfos (1915).
