Cardross Railway Station

(Càrdanros)

Cardross Railway Station (Gael: Càrdanros) lies on the North Clyde Line on the shore of the Firth of Clyde in Argyll and Bute. This station was opened on the Glasgow, Dumbarton & Helensburgh Railway in 1858. It comprises two platforms and the line was electrified in 1960. Now operated by ScotRail, Cardross is staffed part-time and was used by around 165,000 passengers in 2016. It is preceded by Dalreoch Railway Station, 3 miles (5 km) to the east southeast, and followed by Craigendoran, 3½ miles (5.5 km) to the northwest. The Inner Clyde Nature Reserve occupies the mud flats offshore.
