The Paps of Jura

An iconic mountain range located in the southwestern section of the island of Jura in the Inner Hebrides. This range consists of the peaks of Beinn a' Chaolais (733m / 2404 feet), Beinn Shiantaidh (757m / 2483 feet) and, the highest, Beinn an Oir (785m / 2575 feet). Providing a popular backdrop for artists and photographers, the Paps of Jura have been notably painted by folklorist John Francis Campbell (1821-85), and artists William McTaggart (1835 - 1910) and John Lowrie Morrison (b.1948).
