Eaglesham Moor

An extensive area of peatland stretching southwest towards Fenwick from Eaglesham in East Renfrewshire, Eaglesham Moor surrounds reservoirs including Dunwan Dam, Bennan Loch and Lochgoin Reservoir. Typically 1-7m (3-23 feet) of peat overlies 2-3m (6-10 feet) of glacial till on top of the bedrock. Whitelee Wind Farm, which is Europe's largest onshore wind farm, opened on the moor in 2009.
