An inlet of the North Sea, Belhaven Bay is located to the west of the settlements of Belhaven and Dunbar in East Lothian. The River Tyne flows out into the bay and the John Muir Country Park extends along its coastline. An extensive trench-system was built here during the First World War to defend the bay from potential German invasion.
