Wester Craiglockhart Hill

Lying 2½ miles (4 km) southwest of central Edinburgh, Wester Craiglockhart Hill rises to 176m (577 feet). Today it is occupied almost entirely by the larger part of the Craiglockhart Golf Course, with the Craiglockhart Campus of Napier University (previously the Craiglockhart College of Education, but built as the Craiglockhart Hydropathic Institution), occupying its western flank. On the summit there are the remains of an Iron-Age fort, but its structure was largely obliterated when gun emplacements were built on the hill during the First World War.
