Anderston Quay, Glasgow

A street and former commercial wharf on the north bank of the River Clyde in Glasgow, Anderston Quay runs parallel with the river in front of the district of Anderston, ¾ miles (1.3 km) southwest of the city centre. There were once large sheds here to store the goods being imported and exported. The Quay was bisected by the Kingston Bridge in 1970. The paddle steamer Waverley was based here between 1975 and 2004. Anderston Quay now forms a section of the A814 road. The western part of the area is set to be re-developed as Central Quay, an urban business park.
