Pass of Drumochter

An important pass within the Grampian Mountains, Drumochter Pass is located to the east of the Boar of Badenoch, on the boundary between Highland and Perth & Kinross, 5 miles (8 km) south of Dalwhinnie and 12 miles (19 km) west northwest of Calvine. Drumochter Summit represents the highest point on both the A9 road and the railway on the route from Perth to Inverness. It represents a watershed between the River Truim, flowing north, and Allt Dubhaig, a tributary of the River Garry, which flows south.
