Mercat Cross

Located on the High Street, Inverness. The shaft of the monument may date from the 16th Century, but the remainder is the result of a restoration undertaken in 1900. The granite base incorporates the Clachnacudhin Stone (or 'Stone of the Tubs'), once used by servant girls to rest their water tubs on the way to the river.
