One of the Garleton Hills of East Lothian, Byres Hill rises to 180m (590 feet) a half-mile (0.7 km) west of Skid Hill and 2 miles (3 km) north northwest of Haddington. Its western slopes are wooded and a path leads to the Hopetoun Monument, which is located at the summit of the hill.
