Burn of Mosset

A small river located to the east of the River Findhorn in N Moray, the Burn of Mosset forms from the Altyre Burn to the northeast of Altyre House. It meanders northeast to Chapeltonmoss, and then northwest through Forres and finally north northeast to fall into Findhorn Bay a mile (1.6 km) east of the mouth of the Findhorn, having completed a course of 5½ miles (9 km). Having regularly posed a risk to Forres, the burn was subject to a £16 million flood protection scheme announced in 2007, involving embankments and flood storage ponds.
