Balmoor Stadium

A modern football stadium located on Balmoor Road in the north of Peterhead in Aberdeenshire, the Balmoor Stadium lies next to the Lord Catto Recreation Ground. The stadium opened on the 29th September 1997 and has a capacity of 4000 spectators, including seats for 998. Balmoor is home to Peterhead Football Club, which was founded in 1890 and promoted to the Scottish Football League in 2000. The club has subsequently been promoted into the Second Division. Its original ground was Recreation Park, located a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the east on Queen Street, which was opened by Peterhead's Provost Smith, accompanied by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie (1835 - 1919).
