A small wind farm in E Caithness, Bilbster lies immediately to the northwest of Wathegar Wind Farm, 2¾ miles (4.5 km) southeast of Watten. Comprising three Nordex N60 turbines, which were commissioned in September 2008, the farm is owned by Innogy Renewables UK. Each turbines has an output of 1.3 MW, giving total generation capacity of 3.9 MW. Both Bilbster and Wathegar contribute to the Watten Charitable Windfarm Trust, which supports the local community.
