Cobbinshaw Moss

An area of boggy moorland on the border between South Lanarkshire and West Lothian, Cobbinshaw Moss is located a half-mile (1 km) northeast of Tarbrax. It is the source of several streams, the most significant being the Greenfield Burn, which flows south, the Birk Burn, which flows west, and the Powfastle Burn, which flows north northeast. The western section of the moss is disturbed by oil shale extraction.
