Glen Dam Lower Reservoir

(Lower Glen Dam)

A tiny reservoir with an earth embankment dam on the course of the Glen Burn in Renfrewshire, Glen Dam Lower Reservoir (or Lower Glen Dam) is located 2 miles (3 km) south of the centre of Paisley and 4½ miles (7 km) northwest of Newton Mearns (East Renfrewshire). It was built to supply the Glenfield Scouring Works but is now operated by Scottish Water for the supply of drinking-water. Glen Dam Upper Reservoir lies a short distance to the west southwest while the much larger Glenburn Reservoir lies a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the southwest.
