Glen Clachaig

A narrow valley within the Knapdale Forest of Argyll and Bute, Glen Clachaig extends southwest from Cairnbaan and is occupied by the Carndubh Burn and Gleann Loch. It gives its name to the Glen Clachaig Feeder Reservoir System, a network of small reservoirs which ensure the Crinan Canal has an adequate water supply. In total, there are ten of these reservoirs; Gleann Loch, Loch Clachaig, Lochan Duin, Loch na Faoilinn, Loch an Add, Loch na Bric, Daill Loch, Dubh Loch, An Locha Cham and Loch nam Breac Buidhe.
