A group of tiny islets and rocks located between Loch Maddy and Loch Minish in the NE of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Eilean nan Lion lies a quarter-mile (0.4 km) north of the Sponish Peninsula and a mile (1.5 km) north northeast of the settlement of Lochmaddy. A tidal pond lies at the centre of the islets, while another Eilean nan Lion lies a mile (1.5 km) to the northwest.
