One of the northern Bathgate Hills, William Craigs has two summits the highest of which reaches 170m (557 feet) a half-mile (0.8 km) north northwest of Cockleroy Hill and 1½ miles (2.5 km) southwest of Linlithgow. Williamcraigs Farm lies immediately to the north.
