Preston Bay

An embayment on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth, Preston Bay lies in front of the village of Prestonpans in East Lothian. The bay has sand at its southwestern and northeastern ends, with rocks in between. Named rocks include the Cuthhill Rocks, Ox Rocks and Mackie Rocks. Preston Bay does not appear on Ordnance Survey maps, but the name is used in the epic poem Marmion written by Sir Walter Scott (1771 - 1832) and locally, for example, in the Preston Bay Take Away restaurant (2014).
