A lochan screened by plantation forest in the North Rhins of Galloway, Black Loch is situated a half-mile (0.8 km) northeast of Lochnaw Loch and a mile (1.6 km) west southwest of Leswalt. It extends to 3.8 ha (9.4 acres).
