A Corbett peak at the northern end of a 2-mile (3-km) ridge in the remote Freevater Forest of Highland Council Area, Carn Ban rises to 845m (2772 feet) between Strath Mulzie and Glen Alladale, 13 miles (21 km) east southeast of Ullapool. Its steep northern and western slopes fall into corries.
