Tryst Sports Centre

The Tryst Sports Centre sits to the southeast of the main Town Centre complex in Cumbernauld (North Lanarkshire), although the two were originally meant to be integrated. It was built in two phases; the six-lane 25m swimming pool opened in 1973 while the dry sports facilities followed two years later. The name comes from a traditional word for a meeting place. In addition to the main pool, facilities comprise a multi-function sports hall, two squash courts, a teaching and separate baby pool, a sauna and steam room, a spin-fit studio, a weights gym and a hi-tech adult fitness studio for adults and an Activ8 gym especially designed for younger people. There is also a café.
