Cameron Toll

A location at the south end of Dalkeith Road on the South Side of Edinburgh, Cameron Toll was originally the site of a toll-house built in the early 19th Century to collect road tolls. Today, Cameron Toll comprises an large roundabout, traversed by a bridge carrying the Southern District Railway between Newington and Craigmillar, but is better known for its large modern shopping centre. The late-18th C. Cameron House lies to the east.
