Buck Loup waterfall

A waterfall on the course of the Grey Mare's Tail Burn in W Central Dumfries and Galloway, Buck Loup is situated to the north of the Queen's Way (A712 road), 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Newton Stewart. It is visible from a car park next to the road, but a track provides access and continues on to two other waterfalls; Foot Loup and the more impressive Grey Mare's Tail waterfall a quarter-mile (0.4 km) beyond. The track also provides access to The Quorum, a public artwork by Matt Baker and Doug Cocker, comprising carved stone heads within the dry-stone wall of a sheep fold. The track continues to Black Loch and another artwork called The Eye, by Colin Rose. These we both installed in 1997 as part of the Art in the Galloway Forest Park project.
