Alexandria Railway Station

A busy commuter railway station on the North Clyde Line in West Dunbartonshire, Alexandria (referred to as Am Magh Leamhn in Gaelic) is located in the town centre, a half-mile (1 km) south of Jamestown. This station was opened on the Caledonian & Dunbartonshire Junction Railway in 1850. Currently operated by ScotRail, Alexandria Railway Station is staffed part-time and was used by 343,238 passengers per annum (2009-10). It is preceded by Renton Railway Station, a mile (1.5 km) to the south southwest, and followed by Balloch, 1¼ miles (2 km) to the north.
