Anderston Railway Station

A below-ground station on Glasgow's suburban railway network, Anderston (Gael: Baile Aindrea) lies on the Argyle Line, below the junction between the Clydeside Expressway and M8 motorway, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) east of Finnieston. This station was opened by Caledonian Railway in 1896. It is preceded by Glasgow Central Station, a half-mile (0.8 km) to the east southeast, and followed by Exhibition Centre, a half-mile (1 km) to the west northwest. Operated by ScotRail, Anderston Railway Station is staffed part-time and is used by 551,894 passengers per annum (2009-10).
